Mary A. Ferguson, 92, of Robinson, IL formerly of Willow Hill, IL went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday March 24, 2019 at Brookstone Estates in Robinson, IL.

She was born in Oblong, IL on August 15, 1926 to William and Bertha (Howell) Stoltz. On December 22, 1945 she married Herman Eugene “Gene” Ferguson who preceded her in death on April 27, 1991.

Mary was a homemaker but had also worked as a cook and crossing guard at the Willow Hill Grade School for years and had also sold AFLAC Insurance for a short time.  She was a member of the Oblong High School Class of 1944 and the Highland Church of Christ in Robinson, IL. Mary enjoyed gardening and canning.  Mary made everyone feel welcome and loved. No one left her home hungry and she was an excellent cook, and was known for her dinner rolls and cinnamon rolls.  She was an excellent seamstress and loved sewing for many friends and family.  Mary also enjoyed quilting.  Later in life, she made many quilts for Project Linus.  She loved to rearrange her furniture without telling anyone so that no one could sneak up on her, especially her sons.  She had a sweet spirit but most of all she loved Jesus and that was evident to everyone who came in contact with her.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Mike and Marilyn Ferguson, Robinson, IL, Tim L. and Vicki Ferguson, Willow Hill, IL; a daughter and son-in-law Sharon Kay and Bill Shacklee, Carbondale, IL; five Grandchildren Randy and Michelle Ferguson, Robinson, IL, Aubrey and Chris Bergbower, Newton, IL, Christina Stephens, Lancaster, PA, Jodi and Tony Conner, Robinson, IL and Tiffany and Ted Donner, Makanda, IL. Mary is also survived by eight Great-Grandchildren Ryan Ferguson, Shelby Ferguson, Grady Bergbower, Isaiah Bergbower, Tristan Ferguson, Austin Donner, Anthony Conner and Brian Conner along with several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Grandson Travis Ferguson, three Brothers George, Orvis and Albert Vernon Stoltz; seven Sisters Wilma Miller, Neva Stoltz, Ruby Rogers, Geneva Pasley, Alberta “Tressie” Stanley, Marjorie Cash and Marcella “Ruth” Meeks.
